19-th Senior Officials Meeting within the Forum of Nuclear Cooperation in Asia

19th Senior Official Meeting within the Forum of Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) was held in Tokyo, on June 19, 2018. The meeting was hosted by the Cabinet Office of Japan (CAO).

The meeting was attended by 12 FNCA member countries: Australia, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Republic of Kazakhstan at the Meeting was presented by E.G.Batyrbekov, Director General of RSE NNC RK and Kazakhstan Coordinator of FNCA.

During the seven sessions of the Meeting, a number of issues was considered by delegates from member countries. In particular, Ministerial Level Meeting organized in Astana 2017 was highly appreciated. Also, these sessions included discussions on the lines of debates, agenda of the forthcoming Ministerial Level Meeting in 2018, Study Panels reviews, awards of the best groups of FNCA member countries.

Upon the completion of the Meeting, Erlan Batyrbekov had a number of meetings with Heads of Japanese Companies on discussion of cooperation issues in the field of nuclear power engineering.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan is one of the most active Forum participant. Different level meetings and seminars are annually held in Kazakhstan. So, currently, the organizations for FNCA International Seminar is being prepared to be held in October 2018 at the base of the National Nuclear Center and Park of Nuclear Technologies.
