Results of Coordination Group Meeting

 On September 23-27, 2019 under implementation of the Agreement between the Government of Russian Federation and the Government of Republic of Kazakhstan concerning “Kolba” containers and special technology equipment located at the territory of the former Semipalatinsk test Site (STS) dated March 28, 1997, National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan held regular meeting of inter-governmental Coordination Group in Kurchatov (EKR).   Russian and Kazakhstan specialists discussed the results of activity under the Agreement, emphasizing effectiveness and priority of the efforts taken at the objects of the former Semipalatinsk Test Site regarding elimination of nuclear weapon testing consequences. In the framework of the Coordination group meeting, separate consultations took place with USA specialists, where achieved results and prospects for trilateral cooperation in efforts at the STS were evaluated. We should note that all operations are done in strict correspondence to the provisions of Treaty on the Non-Proliferation.
