Address by Director General of the National Nuclear Center of RK

Dear Colleagues!

         In response to deteriorating epidemiological situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and confirmed cases of coronavirus in Semey and Pavlodar towns, I have instructed part of employees of NNC RK to start distance work from March 30, 2020, some part of employees go to forced dead time. The latter is employees, whose specific features of work do distance work impossible. This difficult decision was made solely as a measure to maintain lives and health of personnel, which is the priority of our enterprise.

         As you know, country’s leadership takes serious measures to prevent spread of the coronavirus: introduced a state of emergency, limited movement within the country, stopped operation of shopping centers, public catering and others. In this difficult period, necessary measures are taken to fulfill social obligations, as well as social support to the people of Kazakhstan during the emergency period.

         NNC RK is also taking and will take maximal possible in the current situation measures to support our employees. Thank to our successful work for the recent years, due to international contracts, NNC RK has sufficient financial reserve. Considering the specificity of Kurchatov town, where our enterprise is the major employer, we have added amendments to collective employment agreement, thus making possible to pay 75% of salary to employees who are on forced dead time. With distance work, employee will be fully paid.

On your part, please respect the terms of the agreement, handle the issue with consciousness and responsibility. Head of departments and HR department are instructed to perform control over employees’ observance of distance work regimen with every week reports on completed tasks.

         Today administration of the enterprise takes all measures to protect life and health, as well as for further successful development of the enterprise. Command staff established in the enterprise upon my order, solve current issues since the very first days of emergency state, purchased necessary disinfectants and personal protection means, corresponding services provide every day disinfection of office rooms and transport, control over implementation of sanitary measures, introduced mask regimen in buses, etc. To provide additional support to the personnel, financial department is instructed to pay salary for March on April 1, 2020.

         Much depends upon each of us. Please, follow the recommendations of the World Health Organization, Ministry of Health of RK given due to spread of coronavirus. First of all, hygiene – often treat your hands with alcohol-containing disinfectant or thoroughly wash hands with soap. Keep distance, avoid contacts with people having signs of respiratory disease, do not visit crowded places without any urgent need. Limit moving outside Kurchatov town. If you have first signs of illness, immediately consult a doctor. Observation of the simple rules will significantly contribute to stabilization and improvement of the current epidemiological situation in our country.
