The international experimental studies of high-temperature plasma effects on candidate materials of the first wall of future fusion reactors are scheduled to be carried out at the Kazakhstani Material Science Tokamak KTM.
During the experiments, one of the important measuring and controlling parameters is the melt temperature and its distribution on the surface of the irradiated samples. Thermography camera is the optimal tool for measuring temperature on the body surface with high spatial and temporal resolution.
To improve the accuracy of measurement of thermography camera at the Tokamak KTM, NNC RK specialists have been proposed an original method that allows to track the change of blackness degree of the surface of the investigated materials during the process of high-temperature plasma effects and carry out the appropriate correction of temperature measurements results.
The use of this method is intended to improve significantly the accuracy of thermography measurements of the materials under study, primarily metals, over a wide temperature range.
The method is at the approval stage. The conducted bench tests showed the efficiency of the proposed measurement method. This method may be further used at the other controlled thermonuclear fusion facilities, including ITER Tokamak currently being created by the international community in France.
