Nuclear Security Training Course

Within the framework of nuclear security cooperation between the Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense and the Government of Kazakhstan (Global Nuclear Security Program) training course for the members of the National Guard of RK was organized in the National Nuclear Center of RK. Instructors for the course were the US and NNC specialists.

The training course included three main blocks: search for radioactive sources; practical exercises on the equipment of the Emergency Rescue Team of NNC RK; and demonstrative exercises using dosimetric devices. The course also included a training working tests of individual means of physical protection system and actions of response team. As a result, practical skills in response of the National Guard forces of Kazakhstan to the incidents and accidents were trained, skills and tactics of actions of force divisions at nuclear facilities were developed.
