Successful Conduct of ID-7 In-Pile Experiment

       On June 22, 2022, National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan has successfully conducted ID-7 in-pile experiment at IGR research reactor complex.

         The unique experimental data obtained from the experiment will serve for substantiating technical solutions on future advanced reactors’ structure, aimed at mitigation of possible severe core melt accident.  

      The tasks set for the reactor start-up are completed, all reactor systems operated in a normal mode.  

       The experiment marked the completion of important stage of EAGLE multi-year international research program, being implemented by the National Nuclear Center of RK under the order of Japan Atomic Energy Agency since 1995.
