Participation in the First International Conference for Young Researchers “Genetic and Radiation Technologies in Agriculture”

The members of the National Nuclear Center of RK took part in the First International Conference for Young Researchers “Genetic and Radiation Technologies in Agriculture” which held at the All-Russian Research Institute of Radiology and Agroecology, Obninsk town Russian.

  The conference considered 5 main directions: genomic and post-genomic technologies in agriculture; genetic editing and marker-associated selection in agriculture; radiobiological research in agriculture; radiation technologies in agriculture; fundamental and applied aspects of radioecology and agroecology.

Participants shared theoretical and practical knowledge on the development of genetic and radiation technologies in agriculture, experience, new methods and approaches.

NNC RK presented reports on the study of tritium contamination of environmental objects at the Semipalatinsk Test Site, comparative characteristics of tritium levels at the various testing sites.
