Prof. Yuri Semenovich Cherepnin, Doctor of Technical Sciences has passed away

The National Nuclear Center choir with great sadness announcing that we were taking the news of death of Prof. Yuri Semenovich Cherepnin, doctor of technical sciences. It’s a great loss for whole family, relatives, for us all.

Yuri Semenovich proved himself to be a wise leader, talented scientist, and had a deepest knowledge and always differed with his exceptional tireless capacity for work. This person will live in the memory of next grateful scientist generation forever.

Under that, we particularly valued the contribution to establishment and successful development of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan made by Yuri Semenovich, where his scientific journey began as an engineer to Director General of this entity.

Under his outstanding leadership, many unique projects were implemented, that lend to solve one of the significant matter – atomic energy development and ensuring the non-proliferation regime of mass destruction weapons.

Sharing the bitterness of the loss, we express our deep condolences to his colleagues, to the family and loved ones, and we mourn with them.

Long may he continue to be a great person alive in our hearts.
