14th Workshop on the Nuclear Security and Safeguards Project of FNCA.

The Workshop on the Nuclear Security and Safeguards Project of FNCA was successfully held at the National Nuclear Center.

During the week, participants exchanged views on a wide range of topics and took part in technical tours, visiting the Baikal-1 research reactor complex and other benches and facilities at the NNC.

Participants emphasized the importance of the workshop's topic in ensuring global nuclear security and promoting sustainable development. In the context of rapid scientific and technological progress and the increasing application of nuclear technologies across various sectors, the issues of physical security and the fulfillment of international safeguards obligations have become a priority. Cooperation in these areas is vital to prevent threats related to the unauthorized use of nuclear materials and technologies, as well as to establish confident relations among countries on non-proliferation issues.
