A Scientific Breakthrough of Staffer of the National Nuclear Center of RK was Well Published in the Journal “Nature”

  1. article «Urgent need for greater earthquake resilience in continental Asia» https://doi.org/10.1038/s41561-024-01531-0 , prepared by the international team of scientists from Kyrgyzstan, United States, The UK, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Canada was well published in the “Nature Geoscience” Journal (JCR Quartile –Q1 and 99th percentile by the category “General Earth and Planetary” in the Scopus database) in September this year.

Aidyn Mukambaev – Deputy Director of Data Center of the National Nuclear Center was represented as from Kazakhstan delegate in this scientific team.

In Asia, the existence of active faults has resulted in the formation of numerous settlements. These faults have played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape and providing water for the population, thereby creating habitable zones in regions that would otherwise be inhospitable. Conversely, active faults also present a risk of significant seismic activity.

The study also urged immediate commence of using a new approaches, based on the studies that address growing vulnerability of cities after the process of urbanization to earthquakes.
