National Nuclear Center implements projects commissioned by the Japan Atomic Energy Agency

Technical meeting between the experts from JAEA and National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NNC RK) was held in Kurchatov regarding the implementation of the international contract post-EAGLE-3, which focuses on the feasibility study of conducting in-pile and out-of-pile studies to substantiate the design of the fourth-generation fast neutron reactor with sodium coolant developed by Japan (JSFR).

During the meeting, all work stages, technical requirements and issues related to the design of in-pile and out-of-pile experimental devices, as well as the substantiation of their test methods were discussed.

Overall, the meeting was held at a high technical level.

Based on the results of the feasibility study, a decision will be made concerning continuation of the EAGLE experimental program within the framework of the project.  

 

EAGLE
