The National Nuclear Center of RK and “Science and Innovations” JSC signed a Memorandum on cooperation

SOCHI. KAZINFORM – RSE “National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and “Science and Innovations” JSC signed a Memorandum on scientific and technical cooperation on the sidelines of Х International Forum “ATOMEXPO-2018” in Sochi, informed correspondent of “Kazinform” IA.

Signees were Pavel Zaycev, Director General of “Science and Innovations” JSC and Mazhin Skakov, Deputy Director General of RSE “National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. The Memorandum supposes joint research in the field of radiation material science and technology for producing new materials. Kazakhstani and Russian scientists intent to cooperatively resolve processing issues of nuclear materials, spent nuclear fuel and radioactive wastes.

  «The agreement provides us with new capabilities of cooperation on the most important scientific and technical issues, including production of new materials and management of irradiated nuclear fuel. I believe the exchange of experience gained by Russia and Kazakhstan, will significantly contribute to nuclear industry of our states”, - said P. Zaycev, Director General of “Science and Innovations” JSC, following the Memorandum signing. In his turn, M. Skakov, Deputy Director General of RSE “National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan” noted that nuclear facilities of Russia and Kazakhstan complement each other in technological chain of nuclear fuel cycle. “National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Russian colleagues has a long history of cooperation. We are glad to sign the Memorandum on scientific and technical cooperation in the margins of the forum. Atomic facilities of Russia and Kazakhstan complement one another in technological chain of nuclear fuel cycle”, - said Mazhin Skakov. The Sides expressed their interest in cooperation in the area of enhancing nuclear reactors’ safety, production and improvement of reactor fuel characteristics, testing of fuel for research reactors, exchange of scientific and technical information.
